FORGE-Round Steel
ETERNAL
9Cr2Mo Chemical Composition
It is normally produced via the process flow of EAF electric arc furnace melting + LF ladle refining + VD vacuum degassing + forging + finishing + non-destructive testing, to ensure the purity and performance of the material.
| C | Si | Mn | Cr | Mo | P/S |
| 0.85~0.95% | 0.25~0.45% | 0.20~0.35% | 1.70~2.10% | 0.20~0.40% | ≤0.025% |
Spheroidizing Annealing (Softening)
Heat to 790–810°C, hold isothermally at 650–670°C, followed by furnace cooling.
Quenching
Full quenching: Heating at 810–850°C.
Induction hardening: Heating at 900–930°C.
Tempering
Low-temperature tempering is generally performed at 130–170°C to relieve stress and maintain high hardness (60–65 HRC).
Feature
Typical Application
Roll manufacturing——primary application
It is used for cold rolling work rolls, backup rolls and straightening rolls, and is widely applied in plate and strip cold rolling mills.
Cold work dies
Precision blanking dies, cold heading dies, cold extrusion dies, punches, coining dies, etc.
Wear-resistant parts
Mechanical components requiring high wear resistance and high precision, such as measuring tools, cutting tools, feed nozzles and so on.

Delivery condition
9Cr2Mo forged round steel is generally delivered in the annealed condition with a hardness of ≤HB 229 .
Diameter range: Φ100 mm to Φ800 mm.
Length: Customizable as required, with a range of 1 to 10 meters.
Supply form: black surface or bright machined bars after turning processing.
